An increase in hospital-acquired c.diff infections on F6/5 prompted an interdisciplinary team to examine strategies to reduce infections.  Several of the infections from the previous year appeared to have been colonizations, rather than true infections.  The team implemented restrictions in testing 19:00-07:00 for tests greater than 48 hours after admission to promote discussion of the need for testing with the primary provider team.  This lead to a 57% reduction of hospital-acquired c.diff infections on F6/5 in 2019.
