Single-Checks for Insulin Administration in the Hospital

The purpose of this evidence-based practice project was to answer the following PICO(T) question: Does the double-check process prior to insulin administration for hospitalized patients prevent medication errors compared to a single-check process? After implementation of a single-check process, nurses perceived the single-check process to be safer, less time-consuming, and less prone to interruptions.
